Introduction

Welcome to synqology, a product of M1 Insights Inc. o/a M1 Labs ("Company", "we", "our", or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our mobile application synqology (the "App") and any related services provided by M1 Insights Inc. o/a M1 Labs.

By accessing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the Terms, you may not access the App.

User Agreement

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

You must be at least 18 years old to use this App. By using this App and agreeing to these Terms, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age.

Privacy Policy

Your use of the App is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which outlines how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the App, you also agree to the terms of our Privacy Policy.

User Accounts

The App uses Firebase Authentication for secure access to our services:

  • For Free Users: Anonymous authentication with no personal information collected
  • For Pro and Pro Max Users: Email-based authentication required to access API services for AI insights

When you subscribe to Pro or Pro Max plans:

  • We collect your email address solely for authentication purposes
  • Your email is not used for marketing or shared with third parties (except Firebase for authentication)
  • Your email is not included in any data sent to AI services

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and the App installation.

You must notify us immediately upon becoming aware of any breach of security or unauthorized use of your account.

Subscription Terms

synqology offers the following subscription options:

  • Free Plan: Unlimited trials & controls, custom metrics, Apple Watch integration, basic visualizations, 5 AI chat messages per month
  • Pro Plan: All Free features plus 75 AI chat messages per month
  • Pro Max Plan: All Pro features plus 1000 AI chat messages per month, priority support, and advanced AI analysis capabilities

By subscribing to Pro or Pro Max plans and using synqAI chat features, you specifically agree:

  • That your health and wellness data may be used for scientific analysis as described in our Privacy Policy
  • That your anonymized data may be processed by third-party AI services for scientific analysis, including:
    • Google (Gemini) for conversational analysis and personalized health insights
    • Anthropic (Claude) for deep scientific reasoning and complex data analysis
    • OpenAI (GPT-4) for natural language insights and research synthesis
  • That we apply advanced data processing and scientific analysis techniques including:
    • Statistical validation (t-tests, correlation analysis, effect size calculations)
    • Vector embeddings for scientific citation retrieval and similarity analysis
    • Machine learning algorithms for pattern recognition in health data
    • Progressive data granularity and adaptive sampling for efficient processing
    • Scientific citation search across 12,000+ peer-reviewed studies
  • That this data processing is ONLY for generating personalized, scientifically-backed insights into your own health data, NOT for marketing purposes
  • That no personal identifiers will be shared with any third-party AI service
  • That all recommendations are backed by scientific research when available from our citation database

AI Chat Message Limits

  • Free Plan: 5 AI chat messages per month
  • Pro Plan: 75 AI chat messages per month
  • Pro Max Plan: 1000 AI chat messages per month

These limits reset at the beginning of each calendar month. You can manage or cancel your subscription through your device's app store account.

API Endpoints & Data Processing

synqology uses the following systems to provide scientific analysis and insights:

Data Storage: Google Cloud Firestore

  • What's Stored: When you use synqAI chat, your supplements, practices, stacks, trials, controls, dose logs, metric assessments, and custom metrics are stored in Firestore
  • Why: Enables personalized AI analysis, conversation history, and progress tracking over time
  • Security: Protected by Firebase Authentication, encrypted in transit and at rest
  • Control: You can delete your data anytime through the app
  • Data Included: All manually-entered data (supplements, practices, trials, assessments) AND Apple HealthKit metrics (HRV, sleep, heart rate, steps, etc.)

synqAI Chat Features

  • Function: AI-powered analysis of your health data to provide personalized insights and recommendations
  • Data Source: Your stored supplements, practices, trials, assessments, and HealthKit metrics from Firestore
  • AI Processing: Google Gemini analyzes your data in real-time to generate insights. Your data is stored in Firestore; AI processing is temporary and not retained for training
  • Scientific Citations: Every recommendation is backed by research from our database of 15,000+ peer-reviewed studies
  • Privacy Protection: Personal identifiers (name, email) are removed before sending data to AI. Only health context is shared
  • Security: All data encrypted with AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit, stored in HIPAA-compliant infrastructure

Data Storage and Usage Consent

By using synqology, you consent to:

  • Cloud Storage in Google Firestore: Your supplements, practices, stacks, trials, controls, dose logs, metric assessments, custom metrics, AND Apple HealthKit data (HRV, sleep, heart rate, steps, etc.) are stored in Google Cloud Firestore
  • Purpose: Enables AI to analyze correlations between supplements/practices and objective health outcomes, provide personalized insights, and track progress over time
  • Security: All data encrypted with AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit, stored in HIPAA-compliant Google Cloud infrastructure
  • Firebase Authentication: Secured by Firebase (anonymous UID for free users, email-based for Pro users)

When using synqAI chat features, you also consent to:

  • AI analysis of your health data (including HealthKit metrics) to identify trends, patterns, and correlations
  • Processing by Google Gemini AI for generating insights in real-time (zero retention - not used for training)
  • Sending health data context to AI with personal identifiers (name, email) removed
  • Retrieval of scientific research citations from our database of 15,000+ peer-reviewed studies
  • Statistical analysis of your controlled experiment results
  • Your ability to delete all data anytime by contacting us

Intellectual Property

The App and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of M1 Insights Inc. o/a M1 Labs and its licensors. The App is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of both Canada, the United States and foreign countries. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without the prior written consent of M1 Insights Inc. o/a M1 Labs.

User Content

Our App allows you to input, upload, and store content such as tracking data, notes, and other materials ("User Content"). You retain all rights to your User Content, and you are responsible for it, including its legality, reliability, and appropriateness.

By submitting User Content to the App, you grant us the right to use, modify, perform, display, reproduce, and distribute such content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the App's services, including AI-powered insights generation.

Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the App:

  • In any way that violates any applicable national or international law or regulation.
  • To transmit, or procure the sending of, any advertising or promotional material, including any "junk mail", "chain letter," "spam," or any other similar solicitation.
  • To impersonate or attempt to impersonate the Company, a Company employee, another user, or any other person or entity.
  • In any way that could disable, overburden, damage, or impair the App or interfere with any other party's use of the App.
  • To attempt to reverse engineer or extract any source code or underlying algorithms of the App.
  • To circumvent API rate limits or subscription restrictions.

API Usage and Limitations

Our API services are subject to the following limitations:

  • Rate limiting to ensure fair usage and service availability
  • Automatic data downsampling for large datasets exceeding 5000 data points
  • Request timeouts after 120 seconds for long-running analyses
  • Circuit breakers that may temporarily limit access during high load periods
  • Free users: 5 AI chat messages per month
  • Pro users: 75 AI chat messages per month
  • Pro Max users: 1000 AI chat messages per month

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease. If you wish to terminate your account, you may simply discontinue using the App.

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall M1 Insights Inc. o/a M1 Labs, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

  • Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the App;
  • Any conduct or content of any third party on the App;
  • Any content obtained from the App; and
  • Unauthorized access, use or alteration of your transmissions or content.
  • Any insights, recommendations, or analyses generated by the App or its AI features.
  • Any errors in data processing, statistical analysis, or AI-generated content.

Disclaimer

Your use of the App is at your sole risk. The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. The App is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement or course of performance.

M1 Insights Inc. o/a M1 Labs, its subsidiaries, affiliates, and its licensors do not warrant that:

  • The App will function uninterrupted, secure or available at any particular time or location;
  • Any errors or defects will be corrected;
  • The App is free of viruses or other harmful components; or
  • The results of using the App will meet your requirements.
  • The insights generated by AI services will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.
  • Statistical analyses will detect all meaningful patterns or correlations in your data.

Health Disclaimer

The App is designed for tracking personal data and providing insights based on that data through advanced analytics and AI processing. It is not intended to provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition.

The AI-generated insights, statistical analyses, and recommendations are for informational purposes only and should not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The effectiveness scores, confidence levels, and correlations identified by our system are based on your personal data patterns and should not be interpreted as medical facts.

Never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of something you have read in the App or in AI-generated insights.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in effect.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of any changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date at the top.

By continuing to access or use our App after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, please stop using the App.
